Two men became trapped in a trench in southwest Detroit Friday afternoon, with one of them buried completely, Local 4 reported. Crews continue to dig at the site to rescue the worker. Local 4 has learned that one of the men was rescued and is expected to recover.
The trench collapsed in an alley behind a house in the area of McGraw and Cabot streets, Local 4 reported. The men are private contractors who work for a landlord, the station reported. It was not known why they were digging the trench.
Emergency crews remain at the scene, including a trench team brought in by the Detroit Fire Department, Local 4 reported.
