There is a lot of newbies around here...which is good for TWF (itself) and ??? for the rest of us!

Newbies having these crazy ideas :screwy: on buying bikes and/or not understanding even basic forum chat  . Being that there isn't even a REAL age limit (13 years old, not 18) to join TWF, we are wide open to all kinds of wonderfull and rediculous questions... :disapp:

What are we going to do to help them while helping ourselves????

I'll wait to start naming names to see what everybody else says... :bonk:

To help them???I would have to say that we keep doing the same thing we have been doing. Give our advise and past experience and if they take it then great. There is nothing more we can really do. Advise what we know and have learned and let them take it or not.

You think too much, Gas Man. Any respectable forum knows that you have to treat n00Bs like the n00bs they are.. it's an initiation thing. If they laugh it off, they're cool enough to stay. If they take it to heart and flip out, they won't stay. :D

Yep, just keep giving your experience....the bad folk kinda have a tendency to weed themselves out over time and the good ones realize this place rocks.

Although it is entertaining when a newbie comes on and says they want a specific bike and we starts telling them they are crazy and every other bike they should also look at...although good advice, not what they want to hear.

they will normally end up doing what they want anyways..it's just human nature to not listen to authority!

"What riding experience do you have?"

"Well, I rode my cousin's XR80 in a field one time."

"Oh dude, you need a Busa."

I refering to a few people in general that have no clue to what's going on with a forum and especially bikes!!! It's going to be a up-hill struggle to teach them what they need to know over this forum type of communication....

teaching noobsin general isnt the problem, its teaching the ones that wont learn that becomes the issue. we can only offer our advice and real world experiences..what they do with it after that is up to them.. but we have to be careful how much we force our opinions to them, we want them around as riders and as members for a long time :dthumb:
