I say its about time. My thoughts...I thought it was the dumbest thing to do and to walk around looking like. For what reason do they do it for. NONE. But this is just my :2cents:




Virginians who wear their pants so low their underwear shows may want to think about investing in a stronger belt.

The state's House of Delegates passed a bill Tuesday authorizing a $50 fine for anyone who displays his or her underpants in a "lewd or indecent manner."

Del. Lionell Spruill Sr., a Democrat who opposed the bill, had pleaded with his colleagues to remember their own youthful fashion follies.

During an extended monologue Monday, he talked about how they dressed or wore their hair in their teens. On Tuesday, he said the measure was an unconstitutional attack on young blacks that would force parents to take off work to accompany their children to court just for making a fashion statement.

"This is a foolish bill, Mr. Speaker, because it will hurt so many," Spruill said before the measure was approved 60-34. It now goes to the state Senate.

The bill's sponsor, Del. Algie T. Howell, has said constituents were offended by the exposed underwear. He did not speak on the floor Tuesday.

Spruill and Howell, also a Democrat, are both black.

Maybe I'm showing my age and liberalism here, but I saw that on the news and I think it's hilarious.

I'm offended at least once a day everyday by something someone says, wears, or does. But you know what? I know where I stand and I stand firm and I just turn my head and dismiss it.

On our news here, they weren't focusing on blacks but more on low rider jeans that women wear. I think it's sexy and just part of a trend. It will go away and I'm sure we'll be back to patches on our jeans and different colored socks scrunched down to our ankles in no time.

I think it expresses individuality and makes the world go around.

That bill makes it sound like they're talking about the guys walking around with their jeans halfway to their ass. I never even THOUGHT of women wearing lowriding pants and showing off their thongs when I read that first post. I couldn't care less about the idiots that walk around with their pants halfway to their ass, I enjoy a good laugh. As for women, yeah, there are some that certainly need to stay covered, BUT there are actually guys who like to look at those women. So who's to decide what should be banned? Who's rights should be protected. I want the right to see a thong on a nice ass, so there should be a law ALLOWING that, right?
