I don't wear Corvette clothes and I'm not a part of the local vette chapter. The reason I have one is b/c I like fast cars. So, I put a lot of money into it for performance mods and have kept it looking stock except for lowering it. Now, every ricer and jackazz in a stock Z06 think they can take me, which is fun. lol

but all u vette guys still have one problem the mustang cobra. everytime the vette gets more hp the wonderfull guys a ford make sure they put out a cobra that will run with the vette. soo keep buying those vettes so i can have a nice looking fast car.

I hope you're talking about the stock vette because the Z06 will laugh at the Cobra.zx636r said:

You can make the new s/c Cobras pretty quick with just exhaust and a pully essentially, but stock for stock they're not outrunning new vettes. The new Stangs are sweet, but I never put them in the same class as a Corvette. I mean Hell, one can probably Mod their moms mini van to close to 500HP, but at the end of the day its still no good except to pick the kids up from soccer!
Bull....first off, it's what they're into. Why try and understand it, you don't agree, you're not into it, that's fine, you can have your opinion. If someone chooses to spend money on them because they love them, then so be it. Hey, a lot of people out there could say the same things about us riding sportbikes and a lot of them do.....get my point? I personally am a Camaro guy myself. Love em, always have, always will. I don't understand guys that are into Harleys..........and I'm sure I'm not the only one around here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but, it's what they like and who am I to question what someone is into.
The Cobra could run with the LS1s in a straight line up to 100mph or so, but that's it. The 2002-2005 Z06 (LS6) vettes eat new Cobras alive in straights or twisties. The new Cobra *might* be able to hand with the C6 LS2 in a straight line, but that's a big *might*.zx636r said:
The goal for the next Cobra I believe is 485hp. . it was 500, but that was the last I heard. It will still be 3600+lbs I think, though. They also made a goal of 1g+ on the skid pad.
