I have recently been getting big into video editing and extreme sports film making. Im workin on a vid for a local car board that I admin on and want some footage of me and others with a tank cam view on the bikes. My question is how do they mount the camera? Can u buy a special mount for it or do they just duct tape that bad boy on there? Has anyone done this before or have any ideas?

Hey Bacardi...haven't seen you in a while. Welcome back. This is a good question for Twisty or one of the other members of WOS. They use camera mounts on some of their bikes and I think Twisty is going to be selling something like this as well. Look for his reply to this soon. :dthumb:

I've seen racing video where the camera is mounted to the bike. The horizon tilting to each side is fun for a few seconds, but even the professional editors know that a viewer can only take so much of that.

To me, the best position of a camera would be on the helmet. That way, the horizon would not be as tilted, and the viewer would get the rider's view. You could tape a small camera to your helmet and use a camcorder that has an external video input, and put the camcorder in your tankbag or backpack. I've seen those small cameras on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21165&item=3864841382&rd=1 when I typed in helmet.

Hey Bacardi...haven't seen you in a while. Welcome back.
Im around every now and again. I just dont post much.

Well we make are own. You can buy one of those "fits all bikes" But they dont work that well. Chev bought one and noticed when I was editing our vids this year that mine looked way better. What kind of bike to you have?
I have an 03 r6 and from what i can tell the mounts on sportbikecam.com are bike specific. not a "fits all bikes"
