If you have Windows XP do this: click on start, then run, type in msconfig and click ok, put the dot in selective start up and uncheck the 4th item(load start up items) click ok. It will prompt you to restart so just click on restart. When it bots back up, if you have never used this before, a pop-up window will appear and tell you that you have make a change. Just click the check box in the lower left hand corner to never show you this again and continue from there with the boot up. This will turn off alot of your programs you have running in the back ground. If you need them, go to the start menu and find them. Also, have you ever heard of spyware. We talked about it on here a few times. If you don't have any removal tools, you can get some for free from download.com. Either click on most popular or just do a search for them. Adaware and Spybot are 2 pretty goods ones to use. Just download them to your desktop and run them. I run mine about twice a week. All depends on how much your on. And we all know your on long enough so run your twice a week as well. This should help in the slowness you are seeing. Hope this helps.
