So are you asking a good way to learn to ride a wheelie?Jeffro said:Although not a professional to say the least, haha, I was wondering what advice one could give me in trying to do a small catwalk(wheelie) or whatever its called these days. I have tried a few and seem to be able to a few deecent but short ones. I know its probably a dumb question, and most people will say im an idiot for trying it...well the rents do anyway, but yeah, any tips or ways to go about it, sitting down? standing up? Pulling up? leaning back? etc. Thanks! Dont scorn me for this question!!!
Any luck yet? Got the video, anything. J/KJeffro said:Thank you very much chief. I wil let you know how it turns out!
Good job, Just do baby steps. :dthumb:Jeffro said:Hey I did a mini lil catwalk this morning! haha. Slight incline up hill, went for maybe 30 yards? Was pretty nice(for me) haha, longest one I have done yet. NO video yet though, haha.
Aint that the truth!!!!!!!!zx636r said:wheelies?? who does them......... lol be safe. n keep practicing casue once u learn how to get it up there quick its literally addicting. like u cant stop doing them, it dont matter where ur at ur gonna wanna do one. lol
I cant believe it should take that much to get your bike up with the gas. Just get it up and shift into second. When you get the balance point down your rpms will drop because you will be doing a throttle brake motion . If your High reving your not up yet. But there is no hurry, baby steps, ANd for god sake know where your bake brake lever is dont get yourself thinking jumping off the back was all you could do. My direction encourage you to also practice Throttle to rear brake while on the ground. this way when you need it it will happen before you make it happen.Jeffro said:I just read that other thread on wheelies and I bring my bike up without any clutch at all but im probably reving alot higher. WOuld it be better to use the clutch?
Ps. Im on an R6
This is why it is important to work ont the Throttle / brake alternating, it gives you the finesse needed so you dont do front end slams in a bit of a panic. You shouldnt have to tear your bike up to learn a wheelie. Finesse is your friend.Gas Man said:The rear brake is your friend! I've seen Twisty come down hard using the rear brake cause he almost looped his GSXR 1K on the highway.... it added for some amusement!
