Is the obligatory head nod enough when you've got the clutch engaged? Sometimes I feel rude, I always give other riders a 'wave'. I wonder if they ride by and think, "Just another a-hole on a sportbike."

If you have the clutch in, Wave with your throttle hand, you not going anywhere. lol

But top answer your Question I use a head nod if Iam gearing down or near my turn. I wont risk a stupid wave over a dump in the middle of the road. :2cents:

I have done the head nod as well. A few of the times I will use the throttle hand and give a wave. Just depends on my mood I guess. :dthumb:

I go with the nod. One of my early noob mistakes was almost letting go of the clutch for a wave, realized that was a stupid idea in time.

Go with the nod. If another rider gets insulted, you're not going to know, so who cares?

if they are on a bike, they should understand why they got a nod and not a wave and shouldn't be offended. they've most likely done it too. i know i would understand. a nod is better than nothing.

I will do the two finger up with the clutch hand sometimes, because I use the ohter two on the lever, but usually just nod yeah.

People on my right though, they always think I'm flippin em off, because I only use my middle finger on the brake lever, the other 3 (but mainly the pointer) for throttle control. I've gotten dirty looks at stoplights at not realized what for until I pulled off ;)
