I was not aware trash compactors were still as popular to have in homes. I just use the 'ol fashion bin with a bag in it. When bag is full I take it out to the larger garbage can in the garage. I figure on THursdays when the garbage guys come and thorw it in the truck (theres my compactor) LOL

My improvement project this past weekend was painting the laundry room and putting down new floowing in it.
This weekend will be painting the Master bath (AGAIN! LOL Wife changed her mind on wall color AGAIN!)
Over Christmas will be putting stone floor in downstairs.

Nice work, haven't done one of those, but now that you've mentioned it......

I had a crazy weekend. Installed 5 Pellas on the house, changed two cars' oil, treated some concrete flooring for radon/water emission, and then put our new front-load washer onto a home-made platform on the concrete

Fortunately, my dad was in to help with the windows. One window's trim paint is all that's left, thank the heavens.

I like home improvement projects and have pretty extensive experience with them. Ask away and someone on here might have a hint or two for ya!

Da^N, That's not project, that's construction! But from what I saw of the weather forecast for Mich., Wisc, and Minn, today, it looks like rain and snow, You may be inside for a little while...hope you put some Stabil in your bike!!!

dON'T TALK THAT CRAP BEE! i'M THINKING OF ADDING THE STAB TO MY BIKE TODAY AND PUTTING HER AWAY FOR THE WINTER... RIGHT NOW MICHIGAN SUCKS!!

Sounds like the wifey is whipping you good there Ace!!! But I'm with Ace on the trash compactor thing. The only way I would get one is if my city charged me for per bag pick up, or if they had a limit of how many bags you can have out per week!

I wish I could say sorry, but I lived enough winters in St. Louis, Des Moines and Chicago that all I can say ...better you than me!!! But If you do want to feel worse, plug the Tally Zip code, 32310, into the Weather Channel web site and that should do the trick!!!!

My next project, a lot of which will be subbed out, is to install a new bathroom. Part of that will be creating an office space for me.

Just "improvements", the house was built in 2000 so its pretty new. But I did put wood floors in this past May.

Most guys "offices" are in the bathroom, on the royal throne! :leaving: Anyways, Shan, you might want to give some guys on here some tips and pointers.....I'm always the one painting and building and fixing! :smash: But I like doing that kind of stuff...I grew up with a father like Bob Villa.

Hell yeah, man! I didn't think my hubby could finish the basement and do the the heating and AC preps. But he did! ANd he did a great job on it. If you can build THIS, a bathroom would be easy for you. :)

If by that you mean from a garage to living space, no. Building a garage is on my list, and I'd probably sub out the concrete base, but the rest is easy.

Living spaces get tricky, esp if you have to cut into the concrete to run plumbing for water/sewage. If you haven't done PVC sewage lines yet, this is best subbed out since mistakes result in plugged lines. Yech :puke:

However, I have finished a walk-out basement from brick walls and concrete to finished living space, and I assume the concepts are at least similar. If you'd like the steps I'd do, drop me a PM and I'll give you a step-by-step of how I went about it.

 That gives me new ideas. With the wonders of wireless routers and high powered handhelds, I could telecommute from my bathroom! Might have to upgrade the commode to one of those fancy Japanese models though :D
