On Saturday I left to hit up some back roads, when I got on my usual route PA 74, and 75 thru amish town. I went thru Cowan State Park and lake, So I stopped to take some pics of the beach, then I continued on with the mountain riding. I came up on route 30 so I got on that hell ofa twisty mountain, It was 100+ all the way over to Breezewood PA, which is only about an hour from my grandmothers house, so I proceeded on to her place. My dad told me about the dirt bike hill climb, and thunder in the valley in Johnstown PA which I had no intentions of going (Harley fest), but I was already over that way so I went any way. I stayed at my grandmothers saturday night, and went to the Hill Climb this morning. Then I headed back home to Harrisburg PA when I rode apon a harley bar on top of the mountain, there was a live band playing some awesome music (Godsmack, Papa Roach, 3 days grace......) I took some awesome vids and pics from the band and hill climb. When I was taking video's of the band a big F'n Harley guy rolls up and says, "GET THE [email protected] outa the road, I turned around and got smart mouth with him, I'm not in the F'N road [email protected]!! I had my gun on my hip so I think he saw it and shut his mouth, he kept talking trash, I wasn't gonna live it down F him. Man I hate Harley [email protected]! They think they're king of the f'n road! I've got [email protected] slapped by one before, I don't care they're not gonna catch me! anyway... I stayed to watch the band for about an hour or so, then I got back on the road. I was going back thru Cowan State park haulin a$$ when I should have slowed down infront of the beach. I went thru a turn dragging my knees, when 2 state park rangers were sitting there, AH $hit! I was going to run, but there were too many cars in the way, so I pulled over...well the ranger told me I was speeding more than 25 MPH, LOL I was doing 80, but I wasn't going to tell him that! He let me off so I got lucky once again. I continued on my route home thru the mountains and twisties having a blast. I rode a total of 700 some hard a$$ knee draggin over 100MPH most of the time miles this weekend! Attached are some pics of the hill climb, and band. :damn: why's this weekend gotta come to an end!

can park rangers give you a fine? i'm definately with you on the harley mentality. way to stand your ground! sounds like you had a great time.
OH YEAH, a park ranger is considered a state boy. MAJOR fine in a state park, it could have been worse if he saw my gun on my hip, I kept my jacket zipped up, my concealed weapons licence is from KY, which PA honors it and I don't need to get it switched to PA, but no guns are allowed in any state park, or federal place (i.e post office etc)

just curious...why were you packin' heat anyways?
Because I can legally!! I paid alot of $ for the CCDW course in KY, then the license, and the gun, and ammo, I'm going to atleast carry it. I really don't get along with Harley guys! I don't mess around with them anymore, they always have some smart @$$ comments to make, and I knew I was going to see alot of them this weekend. I don't always pack heat unless I know I might need it.

well, just as long as you're careful with it (and i'm sure you are). i'd hate to see a perfectly good ride end in tragedy for you.
I never plan on using the piece unless someone threatens me, or bashes my head in.

Hey, I just carry a knife when I ride. I've gotten people get too too close to me when they are asking questions and I know it's people that have the rep to jump others when they are alone. So yeah, great story by the way, nice pictures and it seems as though you had a decent time. You need that shirt that I have, "Crusiers are for pu$$ies, real men ride sport bikes", I'm gonna wear that to Sturgis.

Big NO NO to get caught in a State or Federal Park doing anything wrong. The Rangers have more power and higher fines than any state or local officer.

That is true. Got a ticket for being at the docks after sunset, it closed at sunset, but the cop let me go. Gave all my friends tickets cause they were acting stupid, drunk and underage. I think the lowest was like $250 and community service of around 120hrs.

Park rangers are nothing to mess around with. I take my chances alot on the bike, but the roads are so awesome! I am always affraid a ranger boy is going to pop over the hill or curves some where.

They won't catch you though.

I got out of a ticket cause a cop was sitting under a bridge in a non-visible spot. When other people saw him, when you were right alongside him, they slammed on their brakes. In turn, I did the same but went off the road in his direction. He wanted to give me a ticket for "wreckless driving". I told him go ahead, but with the pictures that I just took of his position, the judge is going to throw it out of court cause if a cop is going to sit there, he MUST make himself visible to people within a certain distance. Otherwise, he is causing a safety hazard.

Happened again today when I was riding the bike, blew past the cop though. He didn't even move.

I don't think the park ranger clocked me on radar or laser, so he didn't have proof anyway, but I got stuck behind a stream of cars in tight turns so I couldn't run. Trust me, it crossed my mind! There is no way the ranger would have cought me in a new dodge dakota on those roads. Damn cages! Oh well I got off easy, not even a written warning just verbal.

Hey, I asked my friend who is an MP and my uncle who is a cop. They both said that if you get pulled over for speeding, ask to see the radar/laser with your speed on it. Cause if the cop won't allow you to see it, then go to court and plead not guilty. Tell the judge cause by law, the cop is REQUIRED to show you the radar/laser if you ask him at the time you get pulled over.

People say that, but you can argue all you want with the cop, I've done it, he will tell you I don't have to show you the gun. It's your word vs. the cop. Your best bet it to go to court and the cop doesn't show up. I know my last ticket in MD I just paid the stupid $55. ticket, It would have costed me more $ to drive to MD, probably get charged with it anyway, plus taking a full day off work. It was just cheaper to pay the thing.
