A guy locally was selling his 2k Ninja 250 for $2400 :yikes: KBB (notoriously overpriced) listed it at $2050 and NADA (far more accurate, IMO) listed it at $1400! Hell, I'm even thinking about selling in this kind of climate, esp if I can get nearly 30% more.

WTF is up with that? I was just blown away and had to see if anyone else has seen this kind of thing recently.

In the last auto trader here, there was an '04 kat, identical to mine listed at $7000. I've been thinking about selling mine latley but was gonna list it around $6000. But now i might let this guy "set the tone" and walk away with a bit of a profit

I have noticed that bikes are selling pretty good on the private side of things. Anyone interested in highly modded G1k with low low miles? Experinced riders only.

I am sure that gas prices play the same impact as inerest rates. If rates are low sell your home high. If gas is high sell your bike high. To a person spending $60.00 or more a week on gas for his auto, would still find this to be a good deal. Not really sure but think about how many peeps have NEVER even riden and would love the Idea to do it start off small at anycost. Some folks may ride for years and never be concidered bikers, just conservative. Dunno just a theory. :2cents:

That dont meen a 5 year old bike is only $500.00 less now than a brand new one. I would still hope there is some looking into before purchace.

He found not just one sucker but THREE! :yikes:

I congratulated him on getting what he wanted for it. The environment here's a college town, so there are lots of kids with mommy and daddy's money. I just hadn't seen something so ludicrous before.

All I can say...is if they can get away with it, and some sucker is stupid enough to pay the price for the bike...then BRAVO to the seller....he's apparently smart enough to know what he's doing and make a profit from it.....

To the buyer however, I would do my homework and compair other prices BEFORE making an offer or buying anything!

I've got an '84 Interceptor still. And it is my first ride, as well. Have been saving up the $ for my next ride which I expect to acquire next season.

I don't take loans on toys, so unlike most I'll be longer between bike changes. Been tracking prices on many bikes for a couple of years to get a solid feel for value and the market fluctuations.
