Plain and Simple...if someone wants your bike, they're gonna get it. It only takes 2 guys and 30 seconds to lift a bike into the back of a truck and take off. If there's a lock, there's someone out there that can pick it. Unfortunately that's just how it is. But you can help eliminate some of these by parking in well-lit areas, parking in the front of buildings etc. Just be careful out there...

all to true unfortunately...people really suck..go out and get your own damn bike like the rest of us!!!!

atleast a disc lock will help deter ur average generic goofball out to have a good time at your expense though..might make him think twice atleast...pretty much all you can ask for i suppose

90% of the time a ride my bike to work and back, and for long journeys. Stopping at a restaurant for lunch, dinner or something where the bike is in sight. I live in a small town so if somebody wants to f*ck with it then i'll find out and they will be sorry

If someone wants the bike it will be taken. A bike was stolen from our school parking garage on the first floor right next to the security booth. First floor is usually very busy with students walking to and from there cars. They had an article on the paper saying how the student came back and his bike was gone.

Pickle, I've read more than a few of those disc lock experiences, and at least in hindsight they're pretty funny. Great tip, thanks!

The general consensus seems to be that a disc lock is cool for keeping all but the professionals from screwing around with it. The pros, though, will get a bike regardless. The same can really be said for cages too, so this isn't all that surprising.

For now I don't have to worry. After all, who's going to steal a 1984 Honda Interceptor?

All of these sound like good measures to take to protect your bike...but I still stand solid on mine. If they want it bad enough, they are going to take it. Thats why it is fully insured. I will get another bike. Yes I'll be upset and pi$$ed, but I will live to ride another bike. :D

I have a RFID based device hooked up to my bike. If it is started and it does not sence that the RFID is transmitting the proper signal a small explosive device will detonate under the groin of the theif.
Nice  . gives a new meaning to the term "crotch rocket"

And he doesn't mind that you're just using him?

I plan on asking the insurance company if there is a discount for anti-theft devices when I buy a new bike. But I don't need it for now, because nobody want's to steal a Kat.
