When you get pulled over for speeding what do you say? Are you as nice as possible, and just be like, yes sir / no sir / you're right sir / I suck sir...or do you try and get alittle stern with him to prove a point that you don't deserve a ticket? Or how bout the crying routine, did that ever work for ya ? (although if you're a guy and you cried, I'd give u a ticket just for being a wuss!! :lol: )

I just answer the officers questions and if I knew I was in the wrong, then I am in the wrong.

Now if your a women, my son will tell you all you have to do is pull up your skirt and you won't get a ticket. :lol:

Now see that all depends on if he is old school or a rookie. Got pulled over one night on a beer run with a friend. Cop was young and definitely new. :lol: Did a bit of giggling, toss the long hair around. Apologized for speeding was just trying to take my friend home from work. You know, pull the skirt up JUST a bit but not too much! Worked like a charm!!!! Heck I have even used the excuse, "Im sorry officer, I am just on my way home from a looong road trip and I really have to go pee" LOL That made him laugh but he let me go with a warning! :wink:

When I get pulled over, I've found that if I talk normal to them, explain honestly what I was doing or why I was doing it. They are more apt to let you off, then if you BS them with some kind of story you cooked up as you were getting pulled over.

They've heard it all...but catching them on a good day doesnt hurt either. :lol:

Well, if you're honest with him, you can sometimes talk him into either just a warning, or possibly a lower speed and a non-moving violation. That way the county, city or state still gets their money, and you don't get the points.

I usually don't say much...I've never been pulled over on my bike...they couldn't keep up...I know me and Twisty have both been in our fair share of hit the gas and get the F out of there....

Twisty, remember that wheelie you pulled on Fort St while riding the ole TL!! Put er down and PEACE OUT!! WOW, the good ole days!!! Twisty and I on the I-696 with moderate traffic is always a police pleaser!! :lol:

Other than that, trying the similar thing in a car isn't a good idea...then you do all you can do to say "I'm so sorry" while your face is smashed into the ground and you think you broke your nose from the impact of that 6'4" 250# line backer of a cop "took you down"! F'in prick COPS gettin their panties in a bunch just because you were drunk and thought it would be funny to flip them THE bird and ask him if he'd like to race you in your Ford Festiva!!!

Your son is partially right...except when it's a woman cop! Then you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting off a ticket. Trust me, I know!

You're supposed to be telling us what things people did that caused you to let them out of a ticket. Also, is it better to ask for the non-moving violation BEFORE a ticket is written, or after? I would think they'd be more apt to write the non-moving if they haven't already wasted their time writing a ticket. But at the same time, if you were only going to get a warning, now you've just talked your way INTO a ticket. So, what's best?

We are friends with a bunch of cops in Dover because we work on their bikes. They come in to hang out and grab a beer with us regularly, so we get to chatting with them. Most "police officers" are more apt to let you off if you are honest. Let's be serious here, you just got busted for breaking the law and you're going to try to tell them you weren't? I speed. I know I speed. If I get pulled over, it's my own damn fault. I may not agree with certain speeding limits, but the fact is, they are there. I find honesty works 99% of the time. If not, then cry. LOL! I also found that when I lived in VA and had my CWP, I always got off of tickets. I don't know if it's because the police officer knew you were an "honest citizen" or what, but it always seemed to work. A dick attitude will get you nowhere with an officer. The only type of cop I don't like is the ones who walk up to your car and don't even talk to you. Those the are worst!

So, in short, honest is the best policy. And a little joke or two with the cop never hurts, either.

When I get pulled over on my bike'S or in my car. I know the cop just sees a 24 year punk with better toys than he has...So I know right off I'm getting a ticket. Like I got pulled over for my window tint the other day and I was like “I will take it off" And he says" I'm gonna give a ticket that will make you" It's a hundred dollars....In my sarcastic voice "WOW" That must be a lot for public servant.....
