I had a member pm me with a weapon question and it got me thinking.

1) I wish I was back in the states with my weapons.
2) What does everyone use for personal/home protection.

I was on an SRT (Speacial reaction team) for a couple years and this is what I found these worked great. I don't have a picture of my Kimber ultra carry but that is what I used for personal protection.

Kimber Custon Shop .45

Kimber .45

Car15 with the works.

Benelli with the light and pistol grip. I love this one. This one will make people :runaway:

I have a Kimber TLE RL, HK USP.45, HK USP Compact 9mm, Glock 17, and yesterday i picked up my brand new Sig P226 9mm (one of the last we're gonna see with the U serial code which means the frame was made in Germany).

I also have an AR 15 with a 16" heavy Hbar upper and a bunch of mods, Benelli M1 Super 90 (With Heckler and Koch on it, it's old), and a few .22's

For home defense i usually use the USP .45, i compete with that one so i'm most comfortable with it. it sits by my bead with a UTL, haha

Now i think i'm goign to use the Sig. i don't have a CCW, or else i'd probably buy a HK P2000 or a Sig P229 for carry.

i have pictures at home... hmm...

Well I live in a condo. So if I have to shoot someone I don't want it to go thru them and then the wall into my neighbors residence. So anti-pistol. Plus I want the wife to be able to get a good shot even in the dark without her contacts in. So I got a simple youth 20 gauge shotgun. Plus I figure the racking noise will scare away most!

It depends mostly what room I'm in when needed. I keep an assortment of pistols, rifles and shotguns not to far away at any time.

My personal favorite is the little North American Arms 22 that I carry all the time.

20 gauge
Ruger P89 9mm (15+1)
Browning A-Bolt 270 (if they're running away)
German Shepard

I watched a show about police weapons and the guy said racking a 12 gauge will stop most anyone in their tracks.
That why my wife chose a Mossberg 12 gauge pump to keep by the bed.:yikes: and she knows how to use it.:help:

Yeah... with buck shot in it... you really can't miss... just point in the general direction and pull the trigger! Plus you got 4 or 5 shots available!

I looked at these a few times, I just can't bring myself to buy one. I just don't think I'd ever use it. I take my .380 to the range all the time, but that little .22 isn't something I'd want to go to the range with.

If you're going to be using that you will be to close to aim anyways. During my homicide investigation course they said that most bad guys were shot with a .22.

.22 isn't my caliper of choice anyway.
