about Spurrier comin to the Gamecocks??? I'm sad b/c Lou is leaving but excited b/c Spurrier is comin. I hope we win Saturday to give Lou his 250th career win and let him go out on a good note for the regular season. I'll miss him and he brought in some good talent but now we need someone to show us how to win since we flop out 2nd half of almost EVERY game :bash:

As someone who has lived in FLA and followed Spurrier's career, You are getting a good coach. I hope y'all are ready for him. He is not afraid to say what he thinks and is always good for a quote. Maybe he can turn your program around like he did Duke and the Gators. Good luck!!
spurrier is a genious college coach, his fun & gun worked for years in FLA..but he just doesnt have the stuff to be an NFL coach..all that run n shoot crap dont fly with the big boys.

i think he'll be good for carolina, and he's getting back to his college roots in coaching where he had the most success... good luck gamecocks!!!!
Spurrier is an ass... He did well in college because of that. It's not that he doesn't have a good vision and good ideas, it's just the horrible way that he "motivates" his players to execute them. He can intimidate the college kids and abuse them. That doesn't fly in the NFL. I've never liked the guy and never will. I think he's a cocky, arrogant, pompus jackass.
I think he made a big mistake, but when he heard the word, "Augusta," that's all she wrote.

The coaching styles are entirely different. There are coaches that are successful in the NFL, but not in College as well. Most recently, Bill Callahan, for example.

Wow, you just described Bobby Knight, the coach I dislike the most. In this state, it can get your arse kicked quickly by a neck-car lovin' hillbilly
