For me personally...I've always loved bikes....and when I finally learned how to ride...I couldnt wait to get buy one...I looked around at several places...until my Honda CBR 1000RR caught my eye...I knew I had to have it...so I bought it.
Funny thing is..first time I was on it, I layed it out! OUCH  :damn: :cursin:
But I did some readjusting and I now love it! :mc2:

I've loved bikes for a long while, since like 3rd grade when my grandmother's friend came over with their Goldwing that they traveled all over the country with. They let me ride on it in the back seat and I was like, "I want one."

But the first bike, 2005 R6, I bought cause of the ergos and the comfortable seat. Figured that it was my first bike also so why go with larger just in the event that I layed it down and got hurt, I may not want to ride it anymore. So if that happened, I would not have wasted too much money on it or time.

But I love it and want a litre bike now. Probably turn the R6 into a race-only bike.

Well I too have always liked bikes, but had never really thought of getting one myself. Then last July, 3 of my friends (2 of which are my roomates) went down to Rick Case Honda and bought 3 new bikes, a black/yellow F4i, a candy blue 600RR, and a red/black 600RR. After seeing them having all the fun, and tinkering with their bikes myself, I just fell in love with them and HAD to have one for myself! 3 months later, I brought home my new black/red F4i. About 3 weeks after that, another friend of mine who was kinda in the same boat as me, did the same... saw mine and said "I've gotta get one!", so he ends up with a new Gixxer 600. Sadly, the red/black 600RR is gone, got stolen Dec. 26, and the Gixxer 600 is gone, got stolen Jan. 9th (although the cops did find it 4 months later in a warehouse they raided, but the insurance company took it to auction), and soon the black/yellow F4i may be sold too. I'm keeping mine though!!

You gonna buy them beer too? My dad used to buy me beer when I was not legal to buy it. All my friends were like, "Man, I wish my dad was like yours." He wouldn't let me go out and drink though, had to sit home. Usually just bought me like those small, 6oz cans, when we had a bbq.

I have to say my inspiration was Bob "Hurricane" Hanna.
I saw him on a bike in an old movie and knew I was to be on a Bike.
My Dad rode when I was young and I dont think he could wait till I was old enough to ride on my own. He bought us each a bike and we went every sunday. I wouldnt have ever been ito it totaly without him.
Over 25 years of riding. Did some racing in 1985 on Atv's had Several 250r's, And over 20 bikes. From dirt, threewheelers and 3 streetbikes. I just cant stay away from getting back on one. When my wife suggested we get a bike I was blown away. I didnt know she had interest in bikes at all. In fact she is the one that wanted a Sportbike over a cruiser. She wanted a CBR something? But I figured she aint going to like that little seat over the fender much. SO Istarted looking at the retro rockets. ANd Though real hard about a Bandit1200s. Peeps at this sight pointed me towards the FZ1. Came home from work after a 3 to 11 shift and the wife "unsure" of her find Found the bike on line that we have today. A Mint condition adault owned FZ1. And I would not trade it for anything. It feels so good to be riding again. It isnt always what you ride but that you ride at all. It is a sport for every one. :dthumb:

Motorcycles run in my family, my dad always had one when I was growing up. I also had a few uncles that had motorcycles also. Then in 97 my older bro bought a 83 nighthawk, well that wasn't my choice in bike, but he didn't want to buy a new sportbike right off...I see how smart he was now...anyway my bro sold the bike to my best friend in 2001 or so. My older bro bought a 00 SV650S imported from canada sweet bike, so then I wanted one so bad it ate at me everyday. I always wanted one, but not as bad as when my bro bought that SVS. Then all my friends were "talking about getting bikes" talk is the big word here...so I didn't talk..I did..I bought the SV650..next thing I know I got like 20 friends buying bikes. although I can say for the most of them...they can't ride for [email protected] except maybe 1 ir 2 the rest of them wreck every other week.

i grew up on dirt bikes as well, but started out modestly on the street. 1st street bike was a yamaha ysr50, followed by 2 ninja 250s and finally the zx636. i've always loved motorcycles, and owning one definately helped me meet boys.
One of my best friend growing up was a girl who I rode with all of the time. She had a cr 125 and I had a RM 250 right after I moved here to the East She when on to race in CO. She dominated the Powder puff class so she moved into mens novice and finnished her season 7th in the top 40. In her first powder puff she lapped every girl that entered. 12 in all. Her biggest advantage was she rode my RM 250 every day. And when she would get back on her 125 she couldnt get enough out of it. So when she went on the track it was a walk in the park for her to kill the others. Boy I miss thoes day out west.

I've always wanted a bike as well; having a sport bike is like having your own personal amusement park ride... plus I like the image of sport bike riders, riding around geared up just looks cool.

I bought a friends '98 Yamaha YZF600R for a really really good price, glad I went with a used bike...cause I too layed it down the first weekend I got it.

My story is very similar in that I have always wanted a motorcycle of my own. I did not grow-up with motorcycles in my family, aside from seeing the older guys riding in the neighborhood. I've always had a fascination (sp?) with two wheels drooling over the elites/sprees the other kids had. I had pretty much given up the idea of owning a motorcycle due to my family situation until three or four years ago.

My cousin purchased an old elite and let me whip around the corner and I was hooked, again. I took the MSF and bought my first bike that next season. It was a 1995 ZX-6E. I didn't specifically target this model, I bought it by chance. I asked a coworker if he knew anyone selling a bike and he informed me his roommate was.

I purchased the bike for 1800.00 and enjoyed every minute of riding it my first season. I am now riding my 7R and my wife is riding the 6E.
