no i ride to much to do a 100 tooth. i going to get a power commander pclll usb, vortex 520 conversion w/ 46t rear alum. sprocket, graves velocity stacks, D&D ti slip-ons, sportech windscreen tomorrow. it amazes me that not 1 rider thinks of changing the suspension to make stunt easier.
i will as soon as i get some feed back on some settings that work.

I was kidding about the 100 tooth. I think that might be a little too big to fit. I'd say go up about 4 or 5 in the back and maybe 1 in the front. It would be hard to keep the front down w/ that setup though. Especially if you're on an R1. What year you got?

First off, :welcome:

Yep...the bigger rear sprocket will do the trick... and why not get a -2 in the front as well!

But then keep your right foot over the rear brake.... when it starts to go over... hit it and hold on!

RIGHT TWISTY? I am remembering I-75 in D-town... going to Belle Isle!!

Welcome alphaR1. :twfrox: :dthumb: Like Gas fumes said...go up a few in the rear and down in the front. :dthumb: That will work best. Also, its and R1...just twist the hell out of the throttle and keep your foot over the rear brake for saftey.

I gotta agree with DJ here, if you are on a R1, just twist back on the throttle and you're good to go. If anything go up two or three teeth on the back sprocket, and down two on the front sprocket. Just don't get a big damn dinner plate on the back.:2cents:

You have an r1 man....no need to spend $$ on sprockets and stuff like that. That bike has all the power you need to lift it up whenever you want. Save the money and buy some good gear (helmets, jacket, all that stuff). If you already have that stuff, use the money for gas....seat time is gonna be the only thing that is gonna make you comfortable on one wheel.:welcome:

i got a 2005 r1, has i posted yesterday my dealer gave me a hell of a deal on some pipes so i took it. $300.00 for D&D ti slip-ons w/ ti extensions. i just put them on last night. yes there loud but i figure what the hell have pipes on if you can here them. i tell you what when i it 7000 rpms and that front wheel comes up you know i'm up and coming.plus my dealer is getting maps for me straight from D&D factory to fine tune this beast of mine(only because he as an r1 and doing the same thing to is)he is looking into everything else for me.
but seriously no one changes the suspension? there got to be possible changes to help(dealers looking into that to)
i tkink i'm going to go with 1 up in the back unless i get a deal on a 1 down in front, chain,1 up in back. 50 bones i can get the back and the chain(520 of course)

Sounds like a great deal on all of it. The pipes make a huge difference on sound. :dthumb: I myself prefer Yosh but hey..atleast you don't have the stock cannon on it anymore. :D $50 is a good deal as well for the chain and sproket. :dthumb: If they get you the correct mapping..thats all you'll need. Everything else is just to add more power but you already know that the R1 has enought for anyone on the street. Best of luck. Just twist the throttle a bit more and you will have no problem pulling up the front.

a wheelie bar so you dont go back too far and get road rash on your fly hunnys beehind
Trust me, you will want one. I saw the video where something like this happened. A rider with his g/f on a wheelie on the highway lost it. she riped through her jeans sliding on the grass. Even got to see the mark after a week. Not fun. Weird the rider had no scrapes at all.

Most all the 1000's are geared way high from the factory. Its not a bad idea to drop one in the front. (cheapest) Then if you still want more. You can go up a couple on the rear.

Is the dealer going to re-flash four stock ECM or put on a PCIII with a custom map?

pclll w/ custom dynoed map and not forgotten to have backup the original settings.
That's good.:dthumb: After personally hearing the R1's with pipes and no tune, popping and cracking all the time. They seriously need to be re-tuned to run with pips.:2cents:
