Hey im a NUB rider i have ridden a few of my friends.
i intend on buying one by the up comming summer, but not sure what bike i should get my hands on. i do intend on starting off with a 600, jus not sure which... so if you all would be kind enough to giv me some imput, greatly apreciated..

Are you wanting new or used? Did you take the MSF course already?

SV650S' are good for squids like us, I love mine. The new ninja 650r is probably going to be pretty sweet and comparable to the sv, plus it's full fairing unlike stock SVs, but you probably will only be able to find it new. They always say to buy what you feel comfortable laying down because it will happen.

No one I know recommends the top tier 600s for a newb, but it's your money and life, so you are free to buy what you want, just be prepared to accept the consequences.

This is the SV with lower fairing, I have some other mods done to it now like the rear seat cowl and fender eliminator dont have pics of that yet. Still waiting on my flush mount side markers.

Just my 2cents worth....whatever you buy as a first bike, buy it USED. There's a saying in the bike community; "there are two types of bikers; those who've dropped a bike, and those who will". Odds on are pretty good that you WILL rash up your first bike, that's why insurance costs for full coverage are soooo high for new riders. I'm not saying to buy a piece of crap...just the opposite. Find a GOOD used bike to learn on; worry about your image later when you have mastered the basics.

If you don't know what to look for in a used bike, take a knowledgable rider with you; if you don't know anybody who rides, ask somebody in this forum or another to help. My experience has been that most of the experienced riders on these forums are more than willing to help new riders, and it's a great way to develop friendships.

oraii well a lil bout ma self...
well i live in CA so i can pretty much ride all year around
so i DEFF want a bike...
i been riding ma friends around a few times...
just cant get enough of it... the speed and well i hvnt taken any HARD turns yet...
but advancing little by little...
so far i hav been on a honda f4i and a ninja i dont know which one...
liked the feeling of the f4i than the nija tho...
im about 6 feet tall weigh about 150 to 155..
kinda light for my height...
and as far as the budget goes, doent matter really...
as long as its not the price of a pretty good car...
on top of that my moms friend is saying she will help me
buy one wen the time comes and she's pretty loaded so... yeah i CANT WAIT!!!! thank you all for your comments.... and :twfrox: fo sho...

To much. It lost its sex appeal to me and I sold it. Thanks anyway. Ducati does make some of the sexiest bikes on the planet.
