My son Russ and I setup up a practice track at a local tech park that has no problem with us using their parking lot on the weekends. We setup a mini race track with about 9 corners using cones, natural obsticals and of course light poles. It proved to be great practice...

I'm on the black KTM 520 and my son is on the Orange 625 SMC.

You can't beat practicing on the motard, I have been down about 6 times, I could never push my R1 that hard, I dont wheelie the R1 or do and stunts on it, also putting your knee down on the R1 is a piece of cake compared to the motard, I think there is more than 5 inches of seat height difference between the two bikes.

As for getting hurt I have put some serious wear and tear on my suit this year, after going down at speeds from 60mph to probably no more than 30 in the parking lot I have yet to walk away with even a black a blue mark.. Good gear is confidence inspiring
