After a while I have come to the conclusion that I have an Oil leak... Well I stripped my bike down and grab some degreaser... and look started leak hunting... Well as you can see below I found it.... now how bad is it... what I did is clean it up as best I could...with my big hands... then started it up and with a spot light... I searched and searched... but nothing was dripping...after I turned it off to get a drink I came back at found what I was looking for... the strange part is there is a screw on top which I was able to tighten a full turn... but I'm afraid that that just not it... I cleaned it up again and let it run for a while and after I turned it off...nothing came out...do you think that simply tighten that screw would have prevented that leak... or could there be more to it?

The second picture is after I tightened the screw (in the picture) and let it rest for a while.

ya, I think youll be all set...if it leaks again theres usually a special bolt tightening pattern you do for the valve cover gaskets (tighten them in a specific order) so just look it up in a manual and loosen them all and tighten them according to the manual....

but one full turn on the valve cover gasket is a lot so you most likely will be all set but id also check the rest of them for looseness........

Well I was wrong... I let it run for a longer period of time... and the leak started again... this time it was not as much...and it took longer to start leaking... Guess I'll have to take it to the shop and give up an arm and a leg

Yeah I think replaceing the gasket cover and the seal would be pretty easy... it's getting down to it that I'm not sure I want to do and put back together... It sucks because labor is going to Kill me :cursin:

Time to invest in a good shop manual and lock yourself in the garage with the portable phone (to call for pizza) and a 12 pack, well maybe a case, and proceed slowly and teach yourself something you don't know. If you found it, you can fix it. Besides, all these great helpers are just a click away!!!

Well go figure I have a soft-copy of the shop manual... been looking at it all day... and trying to figure out what all I would have to remove to get to the cover...there is just no way (That I can tell) to reach all the bolts... but I have the strange suspicion that the seal it broke, don't know why... maybe it's my worst case scenario thinking... but regardless... I would still have to aquire the parts required to resolve this issue... if it's more then tightening the bolts... what I'm afraid of is getting it tore apart and not being able to put it back together right. At least that shop that I will use will give me a whole 15% off the total price...

Whoever did your last valve adjustment probably messed up the gasket. Since you have the manual, you can check the valves when you replace the gasket. You may have to remove the radiator, but the manual will tell you. You may have to adjust the valves, especially if they are tight, but that will be more involved.

Yeah I think the rad removal will be most of it beyond maybe removal of the gas tank... but then it should be that bad... I would definately do it yourself... it will be alot easier than you think...

Yeah that's funny...good point or points... I guess... but I'm working on getting a Mechanic over to the house to work on it... I have had to work my way up from Pizza & beer to Steak & Scotch... so you never know I may get this done for a lot less then I thought... :dthumb:
