Whats the biggest group ride you have been on?

33 for me and it was for a meet here in Pa the first sunday of every month we have in the riding season. Normally there are a few thousand bike there all together when we all meet up. Post up and tell us your story. :dthumb:

I actually used to organize group rides for our riding group DC Cycles when we lived in Virginia. To my shock, about 60 bikes showed up. I can tell you that group rides are fun, but they are not always the safest environment due to varying levels of skill and ego. For our group rides I always went through hand signals, safety rules, etc., before the route and there was always one numbskull who ruins it for everyone.

I always enjoyed the group rides, though. They were a lot of fun!

I dont enjoy large group rides. I like the small close knit rides. I find them much safer, because you know everybody and how they ride.
I'm with ya Twisty... as good as the Rider for Roger was.... the organazation and skill level just wasn't there...even for just cruisin thru the city!

Riding with WOS, with the few exceptions of newbie/non-WOS guys, is always the best type of ride!!

I've been on a few. About 5 to 10 bikes in all mostly Kat riders. So much fun, especially here in the northeast mountains with all the twisties. Here are some pics. Last pic is Laconia 2003

Years ago, I went on a Veterans Day ride. It was clear, but 30 degrees. I rode out to the Golden VFW and was frozen when I got there on my unfaired Suzuki. There were 100 bikes, mostly Harleys, and we rode to Denver for a Veterans Monument unveiling. My hands and legs were numb. It was organized, but there were no escorts. I was riding toward the end and had to go through several red lights to keep up. Never rode in another group ride, except for the local sport bike rides. They have rides every weekend. Usually less than 10 bikes, but they are very sporty bikes. Mostly, I go by myself now.

What happens you get the guys with big egos trying to hang with the faster guys and they end up messing up the whole day for everybody by wrecking. I mean there was 3 of 4 that went down this alone. I hate to have my day cut short by some yahoo.... :loser:

I do Toys for Tots every year. Usually 300 to 400 bikes every year.
Its well organized and escorted so there is little mayhem.
On any given weekend there will be 2 to 11 (normally 4 or 5) bikes on our tour for the day.
We (Those that want to ride for the day) meat at the same place every Saturday & Sunday at the same time.
We all know each other and ride in our owen pace. :dthumb:
Sometimes, somebody new :skep: see us together and joins in for the day.

I agree as well - this year if we join that maybe there should be a sport bike group and the hd guys can cruise at their own pace - we just end up at the same endpoint or something - either that or we take over the organizing part and lead the pack - they can follow if they can keep up.. :here:

The largest I have been on I think is Pinckney and there was 12 bikes.. Maybe Ride for Roger was 15 bikes? Not sure.. But that as big a ride as I have been on.. That PBTF ride, if it wasn't rained out, would have been like 300+ bikes..
