check the kickstand safety switch. if it's dirty give it a good cleaning. if still has a problem try bypassing it by disconnecting it and jumping the wires. Only bypass it temporarily for diagnosing though. If bad replace it. If this does'nt solve it also check the tipover sensor.

How long was the bike sitting before you bought it? Could be carb related, things gunked up and getting stuck. Also check the fuel line from the tank, its long to allow you to lift the tank up and stay attached, sometimes this kinks and restricts fuel.

Sounds like Carbs to me but, check the kick stand switch like suggested.
Check the on/off switch also. If the bike was parked out side or ridden in the rain allot some of the electrical stuff might be corroded. :2cents:

You might be able to. But not sure, about this guy... You're lookin at maybe $140 to take the bike to the dealer and get the carbs cleaned, and sync'd!!

Cars and bikes are very diffrent!
I wouldn't want anybody that wasn't very knowledgeable with bikes messing with my carbs or much anything else! :2cents:
