Like any motor, It is expected to run a little sloppy (fuel air atomization) till the heads and intake warm a bit. The FI compensates for the air fuel ratio but, that is not always enough.

Not too mention it sure does speed up the warm up process!
Don't get carried away with it. I'm dought it would do any damage but, I don't like to raise the RPM's over what it needs to stay running.

:iagree: and you see that most people don't use it... as a matter of fact... most newer FI bikes don't come with it anymore...

It's probable due to the fact that the ECU is set to automaticly enrichen the mixture on cold start up. Carb bikes naturaly still have to have choke but FI bikes can be just take a few sensor readings and adjust accordingly

While this is true... the bikes don't have the adjustability that cars do. They don't have all the sensors like O2 to have the adjustability of cars. Just ask anybody that has rode the Skyway in NC!

Then the question is "do you really want that or would it be too much technology"?

It shouldn't really be all that much technology. Just a reading from the oil temp sensor (for my bike at least it's in the heads. Don't know about your bikes.) with the computer set to enrichen the mix by a certin % till an ideal temp.

I don't know. At this point I'm just taking a shot in the dark. But it seems to make sence to me. Please someone let me know if I'm just talking out of my a$$

What's the SkyWay got to do with FI. If your talking about lose of power. It doesn't matter what you have. The altitude will robe your power.

That's what I'm saying... but do you expierence the same effect in your car? You car should have the ability to adjust more to the altitude...
