This was a good writeup posted on another board by a medical pro/rider that did a stint at our local Trauma center here in Seattle. He outlines very well what happened in each case and what gear the rider was/wasn't wearing. It's a good read for anyone, I think. To be clear, there are no photos directly in the post, so the link below is safe for anyone. If you do not have a strong stomach, DO NOT click on the links to the photos. I'm not saying you HAVE to wear it, I'm just asking that everyone but especially those new to the sport and looking around here CHOOSE to wear it so we can all have more riding partners for a long time.
