Alright, so I have a WMV file that I want burned onto a DVD so that I can play it on any DVD player...

Any suggestions?

Yeah I have about 4 programs on my PC for DVD burning. They came with my Dell when I bought it, but I thought I'd enlist the help from my TWF'ers, before I wasted too much time screwing with it...

My DVD player reads and plays WMV files, also Mpeg and Jpegs etc. Sure you really have to convert it?

You should be able to set the format when you burn it. You may even be able to save and change the format to your PC using one of your programs.

Even the cheap basic player from Wal-Mart will play most formats and is under $40.

Wait a minute...you're whining for some help because you are too lazy to read the instructions, but when people come to your aid...you can't even tell them what you have??? :whore: :whore:

Be careful with conversions, I've done many and I often lose quality when I convert formats. That's mostly because I have no idea what I'm doing, and it takes 100% of my system resources for 5 hours while it converts, so it's not the kind of thing you use trial and error.

Well I am making it for somebody else...so I want it to be able to play in all DVD players...
Just ask them how old their player is. If its three years or older. It may or may not be able to play it.
