Bush lifted Federal prevailing wage law for Katrina workers  Since prevailing wage was little over $9 hour for LA and deep south. Bush wants only Mexicans to rebuilding work :yikes: If you had construction skills would you work for under $9 hour

I guess it would be a question of how badly you wanted to get back home and get things cleaned up...After Andrew, we cleaned up our neighborhood and didn't get paid anything...

The carpetbaggers should be showing up soon...many property owners will sell soon rather than return, so the real estate offices will be busy soon. Also, you can bet Mayor Nagin won't be abating any property taxes soon and they are due about now...

I know many people who are right now...they are Americans if it really matters...To many people who have lost everything, any job might seem pretty good right now...

I used to work for $5 per hour 10 years ago, $9 isn't that bad. Besides, unions and union workers have been screwing the general public for years. :yaewn:
Working seven days a week, 12 hours day without OT must make you feel right at home ;)

If you're paid by the hour, you're not salary, in which case you do get OT. I wouldn't expect you to understand something as fundamental as that, though.
Thanks to Unions OT paid for hourly workers :dthumb:

Katrina workers will be making $6.25 also. Bush administration cut out prevailing wage which paid workers in $9 hour range
Major corporations such as Bush Haliburton will clean up taking tax payer hand outs

Unions have nothing to do with it.
Companies treated workers with respect, no need for Unions :dthumb:
Unions came about for good reason, workers taken advantage of :bash:

Yes, unions started with good intentions. The Hoffa's of the world threw all that crap out the window long before either one of us were born. $25 per hour to roll out carpet and plug a lamp in?
Go get that $25 hour job if you are so jealous of it :dthumb:
