Yamaha Motor Australia has become the first motorcycle manufacturer to take title sponsorship of a World Superbike event, it was revealed today.
Some of Australia's leading riders competing in the WSBK and WSS championships joined The Hon John Thwaites MP, acting premier of Victoria, Lindsay Fox, founder and former chairman, Linfox Group and Yamaha Motor Australia director Steven Cotterell for the announcement that the Japanese manufacturer will back round two of the 2005 championship, at Phillip Island.
