Kawasaki announced that Roger Lee and Tommy Hayden will be on Kawasaki's next season... racing in the premier class, Superbike. Honda is dropping their factory FX team and concentrating on the premier class, Superbike. Suzuki obviously already owns Superbike. Ducati is in Superbike. Now what is Yamaha going to do? Rumors are speculating that Ebos will be riding for Yamaha next season, but unfortunately those rumors are also saying that it will bein the FX and Superstock classes.

Now, I know that being able to hang a #1 championship plate on your bike and throwing it into your ads probably does a lot of good, but c'mon... Superbike is the PREMIER class. All others are just lesser classes that have one objective: Support the premier class. Lets step up to the big leagues Yamaha!

I hope these rumors are proved wrong, and Yam does the right thing. I think they need to read Pippi's signature! It's not going to be the cakewalk it was this year for Suzuki with Kawi and Honda turning up the heat, but to have all of the factory teams fighting it out is what we really need...

Kawasaki is deffiantely making a move and its good. Cant wait to see that stompin ZX10R fully developed and competitive. As for Yamaha, the only premier class they have had success is GP (of course Rossi IS the success)and a couple podiums in WSB.

Yamaha won the Duke Superbike at Isle of Man TT and had 4 bikes in top 10 and placed 11th...That's not too bad...Honda had 4 and Suzuki 2 in top 10
The TT is a different kind of race. It has more production style bikes than factory built race bikes. That brings it down more to a riders race than the bike.

All the engine and swingarm mount changes made to the 06 ZX10R were to enhance drive out of the turns . It will be an interesting next year in both AMA and WSB . Not since the GP500's can I recall Kawasaki actively backing a bike/team in any series . It could be a nice year for them come 2006 .

Speaking of drive and stabilty out of the turns , Yamaha has made improvements towards with the 06 model with placing the swingarm mount location farther forward , lengthening the swingarm w/o increasing the wheelbase . Hopefully the engine improvements will give it a little more midrange power .

That R1 engine is very healthy bone stock for 04-05 models . The newest tweeks should make it even better . Look at some of the stats it has in the bike mags trapping a very speedy 147 mph through the 1/4 ...stock .

The 2006 Yamaha just needs a rider and a team with some money . Both AMA and WSB . Would it be too lttle , too late or just the beginning ? It's hard to tell , all the major players are on a more level ground for 2006 .

Time will tell .
