So my bar car is in the shop getting inspected, and that leaves us with 1 car and the Kat. CJD went down a realtor to take some paperwork down, so I was home with Jesse. I get the call that she needs some more paperwork, and since her dad was able to watch Jesse, guess what I get to do..Freeze my arse off!!! :D

Haven't ridden in about 2 weeks or so, so it was about time since its now december. Im all bundled up in sweat shirt, jacket, gloves, etc. The Kat fired right up,so you know she was itching to stretch her legs. Wasnt that long of a ride..only about a combined hour or so including stopping to drop off the paperwork and have a smoke w/ CJD.

By the time I got there, I was pretty much frozen stiff from the waste down and the neck up..and the same when I got back home. But it was worth it to get out and ride, possibly for the last time this season. Although knowing me, I'll find some reason b/4 winterizing to get out one last time. It was good to get out again and blow off some steam. I hit some twisties on the way home and practiced up some trying some of the techniques we've been talking about in here in other threads. Especially a long sweeping on ramp to a highway. It worked great, steady open throttle, looking thru the corner, it was great!! I was so proud of myself. Doesnt take much for me..and even hit triple digits a the highway. Yeah it was great.

Oh well, thats my story and im stickin to it...just thought I'd share it with ya'll.

It was 13 this morning and I haven't ridden since Thanksgiving. We had 5 inches of snow and it usually melts away several days later. But with this cold snap (-31 in Gunnison) the snow is still there. Are freeway on/off ramps really the only corners you have, or are they the only high-speed corners you take?

Looks like it is cold everywhere today...It was about 38 or so when I left this morning. But it did hit 60 today, I think. I lubed the chain last night before I covered the Bee so I took it for a quick blast before picking up the girls. It may be time to zip the gore-tex into the jacket. I already got the full gloves out. Looking forward to the Toys for Tots ride this weekend!!

I don't really mind riding in the cold either, but we sure do get some funny looks from the general public when its 40 degrees outside and we're riding a bike!

They just can't understand...

Eh, I've ridden when it was 14 degrees outside. Actually, it was 28 when I left the house and 14 when I stopped at my destination 2.5 hours later. That was last winter. The heated grips on the VFR were SO appreciated then. :)

I'll ride so long as there's no ice on the ground... I'm not going to let the temps stop me. No matter the temp, I'd rather be on two wheels than four...
