I wrote on my battery, the date I installed it: September of 2002!

It's still working, if you can believe that. It even takes a charge when I throw it on the charger. I don't have a tender either, and this battery has been through the ringer as far as weather. It spent the first year in the Arizona desert heat.

Here we are almost four years later and it's still working like a champ. I'm going to replace it, though.

I've always had good luck with Yuasa batteries. Then again, my bikes sleep in climate controlled environment.

I used to have to replace my Yuasa battery on my honda nighthawk once a season. I agree with whoever says they suck.. Nothing but problems with them. In my experience

A lot of other ppl ive talked to also have had a lot of issues.. Nothing worse than a crappy battery causing all kinds of funny issues. I had been stranded numerous times with that battery.

my Yuasa gave my no warning, it just died one day out of the blue and wouldn't hold a charge.

My battery is still strong. Alot of bad weather and a total drain, it still works great. Must be our superior SV's shan

I replaced my battery last season with another Yuasa but haven't had any problems. When I was pricing out batteries, the Yuasa wasn't overly priced compared to the off brand batteries. I figured since Yuasa was the OEM part, might as well go with it for the price. What do you guys use instead of Yuasa?

Ryd.... most of the "other" batteries are made by YUasa anyway... so do whatever you want, they are all the same... at least besides the alternative!!

So here it is, ten days later. I haven't even started the bike since 3/7 when I posted this thread. After reading the horror stories of Yuasa batteries I was curious if mine would start up.

It did.

In fact, the headlights barely dimmed while the starter was turning over to start the bike. Fired right up. Based on my experience, I'd buy another.

Typical battery life for a motorcycle that gets riden more then 6 months a year is 3 1/2 to 4 years, if you have to store it for more then 3 to 4 months then the battery is going to last less then 3, but Yuasa is by far the best motorcycle battery on the market, they are the makers of the stock batteries for Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki/and Kawasaki.

Till recently, they have basically been the only battery.
