Ok this is what happened.

Yesterday I was driving to work and completely zoned out. The drive is about 5 miles all on the autobahn (a spot that has a speed limit). Well I get in the truck start my drive and the next thing I know I'm at work. Now this is the funny part. I zoned out because I was thinking about something. I was thinking about what lines I plan to use on the track this up coming season. A buddy of mine passed me on the way in and told me that he beeped and when he looked over I was bobbing my head and waving my hands real slowly in swooping motions. I guess I was so into it I was going threw the motions like I do before I get on the bike at the track.:bonk:

So I get to work and my buddy is like "What the hell were you listening to on the way in?" All I could say was "Dude you wouldn't understand", he doesn't ride and I've tried to explain the concept of track riding before and he would do one of these.

So let me have it, I know I should pay more attention but at least I'm not reading a book while driving.

So who has done this before?

Your so right. Nobody that doesn't race is ever going to under stand. Some that do may not.

I have ridding friends that just cant believe that I can speak in detail about a track or road. Noting certain areas of interest. Like bad dips in a decreasing radius or similar. They question, how do you remember were that stuff is. Racers usually understand because of always picking unofficial break markers, turn in and exits.

P.S. You really should pay more attention to the road while driving your cage.

I think we have all done that before. Better to zone out while thinking about the track then zone out and putting on makeup for work.

I can't say I've ever zoned out on the bike, but when I am on a 9 hour trip in my truck, I tend to daze out and an hour or more will sometimes go by and I don't remember anything from it.

Anything as repeatitive as driving to work, you are bound to lose focus occassionally. I zone out at work more then I do on the ride there, LOL. Just kidding, zoning out in my job creates a multi-million dollar mess.

I've done stupid **** like that but never been caught.

All I do is stupid sh*t but I DO get caught! I'm such a damn klutz, I shouldn't even be on a bike, let alone 2 feet.

Don't worry about it Mars. I live in a "zoned out state", I'm just glad that you made it work in one piece. Ya never know, you could of been involved in a terrible accident.

I think everyone has done that at one time or another, I have been making the same commute for 5 years, about 45 minutes 1 way and there have been times when I am thinking about something so hard I havent even realized that I made it to work till I am walking in the building!! Talk about scary, eh!! I figure maybe it's some kind of autopilot of the brain....:leaving:
