Good thread... I was going to create the same thread once I got pics of mine. Just hung mine Friday. First time at the new house so it took me a while to figure out where to put what.

I got alot of stuff but lost alot of stuff this year. If something don't work I just throw it out. It can take a long time to get a strand of lights to work if they don't work right when you plug them in. And I make too much money per hour to waste it screwing with a $7 set of lights!

But anyway, I still have

8' frosty
6' tall by 8' wide raindeer in a sled
8' tall christmas tree
1 raindeer standing wire dilly
lots of candy canes along the front walk.
a Merry Christmas lighted sign
and of coarse tons of lights.

I'm thinking about getting some more lights n stuff... maybe stop on my way home..

Once I get a house, I am going to run my lights using PLCs. On/Off/synch to music and such.

I just hung some at my place yesterday. Also my first house and first time doing it. I did a couple strands of Icecicle lights along the porch.

Its not that much... as I said I lost alot this year. And I just refuse to buy anything at the inflated prices they are now. I buy most of my stuff after the holiday at 50-75% off.

Tater... you are identifing one of my problems. I like my decor. Its not too much or gaudy(sp?)!

 

I dunno that we're doing any exterior lights this year... there's hardly a weekend between now and New Year's that we aren't either busy or out of town, and it's dark by the time we get home from work.

(And I was gonna be a scrooge and not do a tree this year, since I'm worried about the cats wreaking havoc on it, but I think Chris will win this battle)

 

Yeah I'm not sure if I am putting up a tree...it's just me and my wife...but something wouldn't feel right if we didn't have one. So I dont know...:idk:

 

That's where we're at... it's just us, and we'll be outta town for 9 days... BUT, it just won't be the same coming home in the evenings, and NOT sitting in the warm glow of the Christmas tree.

we am not putting up a tree this year nor do we do lights... i call my parents "Chevy" (Chase) b/c they get bigger and brighter every year, but my hubby wasnt raised around that kinda thing, so he doesnt really get into it, and I dont have time to do it on my own, as for the tree, i used to compromise and have a small one, but then either the dogs or the cats would destroy it, we tried the big tree a couple years, but it was so bad with my cats that I dont put my nice ornaments on it, i cant put ribbons on it, and i used to have to keep the broom and dust pan behind the tree to clean up several times a day...*sighs*

yeah, that is what my house is going to be like when I get one. I have already done some tests to see if I could do something like that and everything was successful. My main concern is the amount of wiring that is going to be running everywhere and not zapping the **** out of myself.
